It all started when two guys in Maryland, John and Tom, had a conversation about peace.

"People get upset over the smallest things," said John. "Sometimes those little things turn into really big things."

Tom agreed: "We should create a way to remind people that we're all part of the same human family…and that other small things — like a smile — can change the world for the better."

That's when Threads of Peace was born.
